At the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), we’re accelerating Australian research and innovation by driving excellence in the creation, analysis and retention of high-quality data assets. We partner with the research community and industry to build leading-edge digital research infrastructure to provide Australian researchers with competitive advantage through data. 

ORCID strives to enable transparent and trustworthy connections between researchers, their contributions, and their affiliations by providing a unique, persistent identifier for individuals to use as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities. We do this by providing three interrelated services:

• The ORCID iD: a unique, persistent identifier free of charge to researchers

• An ORCID record connected to the ORCID iD, and 

• A set of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)

The Dutch Research Council (NWO) is the major national funding council in the Netherlands. NWO has a budget of almost 1.5 billion euros a year and covers all disciplines, excluding medicine which is covered by its sister council ZonMW. 

NWO has a long-standing tradition in fostering Open Science. Currently it runs the Open Science NL programme - the 10 year national program to support the transition to open research in the Netherlands. NWO is strongly committed to open research information. It has been a signatory of the Barcelona Declaration since 2024 and is actively working on implementing its ambitions, for instance by minting Grant DOIs through Crossrefs Grant Linking System (GLS) and providing structured open data related to NWO's funded research by means of the NWOpen API. NWO has a PID-strategy with the goal of gradually introducing DOIs for grants, ORCID for people and ROR for institutions. 

DataCite provides shared open infrastructure, built with and for the global research community to advance open research. As a non-profit organization governed and guided by members representing research organizations from around the world, DataCite’s activities reflect the needs of the communities it serves. Its infrastructure and metadata services provide a foundational global resource that is trusted and accessible worldwide.

DataCite exists because research extends far beyond traditional publications. Datasets, software, samples, grants, instruments, and other research outputs, resources, and activities deserve to be recognized, connected, discovered, and valued. By providing persistent identifiers and high-quality metadata, DataCite helps make these contributions more visible and increases their potential impact.
