PASSPORT & VISA
REQUIREMENTS
When crossing the internal borders of the Schengen area, you usually do not need to show your passport or identity card. However, all Schengen countries can reintroduce temporary border controls in exceptional circumstances, for example in the event of a threat to public order or national security.
Visitors from non-EU countries (Schengen) must possess a passport valid for at least three months after the planned departure from the Czech Republic.

The National Library of Technology (Local Organiser of the conference) assists participants by processing official invitations upon request. These letters do not commit the Local Organiser to any financial obligation.
Invitation letters for visa purposes will be only issued to participants who have completed the registration process and paid the registration fee.
Please note that the visa application process can take up to 6 weeks. Therefore, participants requiring a visa should apply immediately to the consular office or embassy of the Czech Republic in their home country in order to avoid any inconvenience.
Before your appointment, please contact the embassy and ask which of the following documents are required to issue a visa for you:

Official invitation by the Czech Foreign Police.

Condition for the issuance of the invitation letter by the National Library of Technology:
Payment of registration fee
The invitation letter will be sent to your e-mail as a PDF file upon providing all the required information.
In case the embassy requires an original invitation letter, we can deliver it by an express delivery service (FedEx, DHL). Please note that in this case, the delivery fee shall be covered by the participant.
The invitation letter should be presented to the Czech embassy in your country in order to receive a visa for PIDfest.

Conditions for the issuance of the invitation letter by the Czech Foreign Police are as follows:
Payment of registration fee
Payment of accommodation
As soon as the required data has been received and the registration and accommodation fees have been paid, the National Library of Technology will start the process of issuing the official invitation for you. This process can take a few weeks. When the official invitation is ready, it will be sent to your address by an express delivery service. Please note that the delivery fee shall be covered by the participant. The letter you receive should be presented to the Czech embassy in your country during the visa application process.
We strongly advise you to apply as soon as possible prior to PIDfest.
